    劍橋課程體系：IGCSE、A-level課程助力大學申請

    英國的基礎教育為13年，對在中國完成12年教育的中國學生，要立即和英國大學教育體系接軌有相當的難度，因此應該通過過渡課程來適應。

    It takes 13 years to complete one’s basic education in the UK, which is 1 year less than in China. For this reason, there is a gap between both curriculums. Chinese students need a transition course to bridge the gap.

    IGCSE課程和A-level課程是劍橋課程體系的重要組成部分，是銜接初高中和大學的重要課程，更是申請英國較好高等學府的重要憑據。

    The Cambridge curriculum, including IGCSE and A-levels, provides a vital link to enable Chinese students to transition from the Chinese education system to the international university level study. More importantly, our program also serves as a strong evidence of the academic competence and potential in their admission to top universities in the UK.

    在中國讀完A-level課程并取得相應科目的成績后，學生可以直接申請英國大學本科，不僅能為家長省下30萬元左右的費用，還能為學生節省寶貴的一年時間。

    After completing A-levels exams with satisfactory results, students can apply for the undergraduate courses. It will save around 300,000 RMB for the parents and also save one year for student.

    Cambridge International AS and A Levels are an equivalent standard to the AS and A Levels taken by learners in the UK, and are accepted for entrance to all UK universities. Over 450 US universities accept Cambridge International AS and A Levels, including all Ivy League and Ivy Plus universities. These universities include: Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Princeton University, Stanford University and Yale University.

    - 穩定、合理的評估模式

    A-level考試每年舉行兩次，分別是6月和11月，考試成績則分別于8月和次年1月公布。

    Exams are held in June and November each year, with results issued in August and January respectively.

    同時，劍橋A-level考試采用了眾多的評估流程和技術，作為對正式筆試的補充——各種口試、實踐、項目和課程作業等被用于各門學科的考試，以便較有效和較恰當地考察相應學科的學習成果。

    Cambridge A-level exams feature a mix of assessment methods, which may include coursework, practical exercises, oral and listening tests, projects and written examinations.

    To better facilitate students to cope with the divergence between Chinese education and British education, we endeavor to take the full advantage of the excellent teaching resources in Beijing No.80 High School, and at the same time, introduce and revise the international curriculum. Providing students with a high-quality bilingual education has been our prime focus during 8 years of development.

    我項目將外方課程設計為3個階段幫助學生完成高中學習和大學申請。第一階段，學生集中學習IGCSE課程。我們以優質教育教學資源為支撐，為學生提供靈活、多樣的課程。而生動精彩的課堂也能引導和鼓舞學生盡早適應國外課程的學習和評估模式。此階段課程注重培養學生創造性思維、探索能力和解決問題能力。IGCSE課程為學生未來A-level課程學習以及全英語學習模式打下了良好的基礎和平穩的過渡。

    Preparations for the successful completion of high school and application to universities are divided into 3 stages. In stage 1, students take the IGCSE program. This encourage students to engage in a variety of subjects via a flexible and stimulating curricular supported with excellent resources and training. There is a focus on creative thinking, enquiry and problem solving. It is the ideal springboard to advanced A-level study and prepares students for higher level study in English.

    在第二階段，學生將選學4門A-level課程。和其他課程相比，A-level課程側重于知識的深度，旨在培養學生的獨立思考能力和提示知識運用水平。A-level課程通常學習2年，在第一年學習結束時學生將參加AS級別考試。成績較為理想的學生將繼續學習A2課程并參加考試，進而完成整個科目A-level學習。

    In stage 2, students are able to study four subjects. There is a focus on in-depth subject content, independent thinking and the application of the knowledge. Generally, the A-level course is a 2 year program, which includes an AS Level exam at the end of the first year. Students achieving satisfactory results in AS level will proceed to study A2, and thus complete the A-level qualifications in the following year.

    在第三階段，在基本完成所有必要考試后，學生將對自己高中學習加以總結和回顧，并參加一系列社會實踐活動以及海外學習、生活適應課程。

    In stage 3, once all the major exams have been completed, students will review and reflect on their high school learning experiences, and participate in a series of internships and courses that prepares them for the life and study abroad.

    同時，升學指導還將以多種形式貫穿于學生三年的學習和生活中。非畢業年級將會通過大學招生官訪問、海外大學博覽會、暑期夏令營、學生志愿者、系列專題講座等形式多樣的活動類課程為學生進行前期升學指導。畢業年級將通過相應的升學指導課、學習技能課、座談、招生官見面會等形式開展有針對性的、一對一升學指導。

    Meanwhile, university counseling will be carried out throughout the whole process of students’ learning. Students in grade 10 and 11 will take part in all sorts of extra-curricular activities, such as university presentations, , summer schools, volunteering, lectures. For grade 12 students, there will be course for university application guidance, Study Skills to get them better prepared for future study and opportunities for personal guidance with university admission officers. Our counselors will help them to manage the application process to university and to communicate with the universities once offers are received.
